Liposuction is the famous procedure in movies where they basically suck out the fat around your body. It is considered cosmetic surgery rather than medical surgery because whilst it can result in a temporary reduction in fat mass and weight it does not appear to improve insulin sensitivity or risk factors for coronary heart disease, including blood pressure, blood sugars or cholesterol.
One of the major frustrations with liposuction is generally within a few months the fat comes back because you are not changing anything about your intake or the hormones. And it comes with a wide variety of serious complications like cosmetic deformities and infections.
