Professor Michael Nilsson MD, PhD, is the Director of the Centre for Rehab Innovations (CRI) and Global Innovation Chair of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Newcastle. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, The Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Michael is the immediate-past Director of the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) and Burges Professor of Medical Science, Newcastle, Australia 2012-2018. Over the course of his career, Michael Nilsson has developed and implemented new models of care, and evaluated care trajectories in Rehab, for instance after stroke, traumatic brain injury and Parkinson.
